Mike Auld:
General Manager

Michael has come to Peckforton Castle to drive and constantly improve standards and customer service delivery throughout the hotel. In 2011 Michael won the coveted Caterer & Hotelkeeper Acorn Award, an achievement he names as his greatest. Michael brings his award winning experience and skills to the Castle, along with big ideas for the direction he wishes to take the business. Michael has a strong desire to ensure that every guests experience is just as magical as the Castle itself and that our guests leave with the WOW factor.

Daniel Naylor:
Operations Manager

Daniel is responsible for the Castle's employees and the delivery of excellence in customer care. Daniel's employment history is that of Peckforton Castle, after studying at Sheffield Hallam University he went on to travel the world before joining Peckforton's team. Since then Daniel has had a 6 month project running The Lion and Swan Hotel in Congleton before returning in May 2009. Dan's future goals are to ensure Peckforton Castle delivers the best customer journey in Cheshire and grow our service standards to that of a 5 star hotel.

 

Mark Ellis:
Head Chef

Mark has trained in some of the finest five star Hotels and Michelin starred Restaurants in the country, working alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, learning all styles of cuisine, Marks greatest influence is his former Head Chef Simon Radley of the Chester Grosvenor where he learnt precision cooking and adding that tongue in cheek humour to his dishes, Mark's love of Cheshire produce allows him to use the very best the county has to offer due to his excellent relationship with local suppliers which reflect in his menus.

Lauren Johnson:
Conference & Banqueting Manager

Lauren joined the castle team early in 2011 as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. With her she brought a wealth of experience, gained over the past 10 years, working in the hospitality industry. Lauren quickly proved her metal and in 2012, took the reins of the Conference & Banqueting department, implementing and driving standards onward.

Mark Crawford:
Food & Beverage Manager

Mark joined the team as Restaurant Supervisor in 2007. After moving through the F&B departments, he found his area of expertise in Conference & Banqueting. Mark excels at looking after the numerous weddings & corporate events we host at the Castle and always ensures the happy couple take away magical memories of their big day. Mark was promoted to his current title in October 2012 to which he wishes to implement a driving force within all the Food & Beverage departments to exceed all costumer expectations.   

Pam Lummis:
Reception Manager

Pam joined the reception team in November 2008 having come from a background of Estate Agency Work. Pam enjoys working with the general public and loves the busy environment that comes with working in the hotel industry. The fast pace of reception work suits her, as she loves the challenge of a busy checkout followed usually by a wedding with a full check-in! Pam likes nothing more to see guests returning to the Castle because they were so impressed by their first visit.

Anna Blakebrough:
Restaurant Manager

Anna has grown up in the hospitality industry and joined the Castle team in 2011 as Assistant Restaurant Manager. Her infectious personality and obvious passion for customer service was evident from the early stages and within 6 months of starting, Anna was heading up the, 3 AA rosette, 1851 restaurant.

 

Jane Smith:
Head Housekeeper

Jane joined the team in October 2012, coming from the Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester Airport. Jane brings with her 15 years of experience within the housekeeping department. Jane and her team are committed to providing our guests with the highest level of cleanliness and service throughout the Castle.

Karl Lummis:
Maintenance Manager

Karl joined the Castle as maintenance manager, having come from a background of Industrial Landscaping. He sees his role as an exciting challenge as the variety of work within the Castle is vast. As you can imagine the Castle has plenty to keep him and the rest of the maintenance team busy, including the rather specialized job of feeding the peacocks!

Falconry & Activities:
Tommy & Phil

Tommy (Left) – Having spent his most of his life caring for and training animals Tommy has now joined Peckforton Castle to constantly improve the quality of our falconry offering to our guests.

Phil (Right) – I have been involved within the events industry for over 15 years and love it! As an events manager I have had the opportunity to host events for many blue chip companies worldwide and fortunate enough to run a team building business on the beautiful island of Mallorca for 4 years. On my return I founded The Event Station who now offer a wide and exciting range of activities here at the stunning Peckforton castle.

Emily Stephenson:
Landrover/Activity Centre Manager

Emily started at Peckforton Castle in 2010 as reservations co-ordinator concentrating on revenue management for bedrooms, this gave her a real insight into how a hotel operates. In 2012 Peckforton Castle acquired the Land Rover Experience franchise already based there and Emily took on the challenge of stepping up to managerial status. She now runs the day to day operation of both the Land Rover franchise and the activities centre which has proven to be very successful.

Matthew Naylor:
Director of Sales & Marketing

Matthew has worked within the family business since 2006. Since heading the sales team three years ago, Matthew has really found his niche in controlling all sales and marketing aspects of the operation. This allows him to express his passion and family pride to make Peckforton Castle a leading venue within the North West. Selling the Castle’s opportunities on a daily basis is a dream job for Matthew.

Jo-Anne McKnight:
Sales Office Manager

Jo-Anne has worked in the sales office at Peckforton Castle for over five years and she is passionate about weddings and events. Being creative and sharing ideas with brides and grooms are the essential qualities that Jo-Anne has used to co-ordinate over 200 weddings and numerous high profile events for us. She endeavours to improve the experience of her clients and Jo-Anne has become an integral member of the sales team.

Vanessa Howard:
Wedding Co-ordinator

Vanessa is the newest member of the sales team having joined the castle in 2012 as a wedding administrator, having completed a degree in events management she saw Peckforton Castle as the perfect place to learn her chosen field. From the very early stages Vanessa showed that the theory she had learnt at university was adding real benefit to understanding and organising an event and being able to deliver this to a very high standard. Vanessa was promoted to a wedding co-ordinator in 2013 and now helps co-ordinate in excess of 180 weddings a year.

 

Poppy Watson:
Wedding Co-ordinator

Poppy joined the operations team as trainee manager in 2008 in order to gain knowledge of how to deliver the perfect experience. Moving into the sales area of the operation in 2011 she now adds real value to the sales environment due to her insight from an operational point of view. Now a wedding co-ordinator Poppy loves to listen to the needs of our bride and grooms so that their day is everything they have ever dreamed of.

Rachel Reid:
Conference & Events Co-ordinator

Rachael joined the sales team at Peckforton Castle in 2011 after relocating to the North West. Her previous employment was at Epsom race course and therefore has good knowledge of organising events of all sizes. Rachael brings knowledge and experience to the team and has an eye for detail whilst operating with great enthusiasm in order to over deliver on her clients requests.

Julie Kite:
Conference & Events Co-ordinator

Julie is a veteran of the conference and banqueting Industry, having spent most of her working life within the hotel trade. She has a vast knowledge of conference and events requirements, organising everything from a director's conference, product launches or special milestone events within a family's social calendar. Attention to detail and listening to her clients are the watchword for Julie's successful conferences and events.
