The Castle's 1851 Restaurant offers a very special dining experience fit for kings and queens. Featuring modern British cuisine, the Table d'Hôte and A la Carte menus are brimming with fine dining options, some classic with a modern twist and others as full of imagination as they are of flavour. Holder of 2 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award, the 1851 Restaurant treats diners and guests to the Castle to a gastronomic extravaganza featuring carefully selected, locally grown and reared produce, including Cheshire salmon, cheese, Goosnargh duck and local beef. Our Head Chef Mark Ellis is passionate about using only the finest ingredients available to him which have been sourced where possible from right here in Cheshire, and he is fanatical about bucking the myth about old and new not mixing! The wine list offers a delightful journey through the vineyards of the world and boasts a wide range of grapes including sparkling wines, such as the playful Italian prosecco, to an elegant and indulgent Dom Perignon. The deep plush carpets, tasteful décor and tables adorned with crisp linen and beautiful tableware – all against the magnificent backdrop of Peckforton Castle's impressive architecture – add a welcome touch of magic and glamour to every meal, making every dining experience a very special occasion. The 1851 Restaurant welcomes non - residents, however we do recommend early booking by phoning 01829 260930. Last orders for our Sunday Lunch menu in the 1851 Restaurant are at 7pm, parties of 10 or over can be booked in after this, but must be pre-booked through the sales office.
