Weddings

As you pass through the magnificent gatehouse and sweep up the long drive, you could almost be forgiven for momentarily thinking you had some how been transported back to the 1800's.

Peckforton Castle, is set in the heart of Cheshire, a magnificent Victorian country house built by John Tollemache in 1844 in the style of a Medieval Castle. Today we are the only Grade 1 listed, Medieval style Castle which is occupied.

In fact you may recognise the red sandstone walls, the marble floors, the vaulted dining rooms, the open fires and the candlelit Wine Cellar as they have featured in the films such as Robin Hood and Doctor Who 1973 and 2007. Not forgetting to mention our beautiful newly refurbished bedrooms with rich brocades, the fabric and style that radiates warmth and comfort. You can also relax and enjoy some of the finest cuisine in Cheshire.

Now we open our doors as a luxury hotel, allowing you to hold your Wedding and Wedding Breakfast in the most breathtaking venue, with fantastic views of Cheshire, ideal photo opportunities and beautiful function rooms, you can even take over the Castle exclusively for your special day.

On behalf of the Naylor family and the team, we look forward to welcoming you to Peckforton Castle.

Kind regards

Richard Anthony Naylor, Managing Director

Ceremony

Since the year 2000 the Castle has hosted Civil Ceremonies, we have three licensed rooms which can cater from 10 to 170 guests.

Great Hall

Imagine saying your marriage vow's with the sun streaming through the stained glass windows, a string quartet playing soft romantic music from the Minstrel's Gallery surrounded by a carved oak screen , the fire glowing softly in the background and the room lit by candle light.

The red sandstone walls and the original Minton Hollins tiled floor underfoot. The Great Hall is a truly magnificent room which can be entered via the original main entrance to the castle.

The Hexagonal Room

Walk along the red carpet and up the stone staircase and enter the hexagonal shaped room which has two working fireplaces, and a vaulted stone ceiling. At the apex of the ceiling you will see a carved stone with an inscription of love.

Romance is never far away.

The Library

The original Library to the Castle, a small room surrounded by tall imposing windows.

A unique, intimate room.
