Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
1.1 “The Castle”, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to Peckforton Castle, Stone House Lane, Peckforton, Tarporley, Cheshire, CW6 9TN, operated by Majorstage Limited (Company No. 3556789).
1.2 “You” or “the Client” refers to the individual making the booking and all members of their party.
1.3 “Booking” means any reservation for accommodation, weddings, events, dining, or other services provided by the Castle.
2. General Terms
2.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made directly with the Castle, via our website, telephone, email, or in person.
2.2 By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2.3 The Castle reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version applicable will be that in force at the time of booking.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 All bedroom, wedding, event, and package bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2 A valid credit or debit card is required to guarantee all bookings.
3.3 The full balance of your stay, including any additional charges incurred during your visit, must be settled prior to departure.
3.4 The Castle reserves the right to take a pre-authorisation on your card upon arrival. Any unused funds will be released following departure, subject to your card provider.
3.5 If payment is not settled prior to departure, we reserve the right to charge the outstanding balance to the card provided.
4. Cancellations and Amendments by the Client
4.1 Bedroom Reservations
4.1.1 A £50.00 per room, per night cancellation fee applies to any cancelled bedroom reservation.
4.1.2 Non-promotional bedroom reservations may be cancelled up to 12:00 noon, 48 hours prior to arrival without incurring additional charges (other than the cancellation fee noted above).
4.1.3 Cancellations made after this time, or failure to arrive (no-show), will incur a charge of 100% of the total booking value.
4.2 Wedding Bookings
4.2.1 Wedding bookings are subject to a strict cancellation period of 28 days prior to the event date.
4.2.2 Cancellations within 28 days of the wedding date will result in 100% of the total contracted value being payable.
4.2.3 Any deposits paid for weddings are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.3 Promotional and Third-Party Bookings
4.3.1 Bookings made on promotional rates are non-refundable and non-transferable. 4.3.2 Bookings made using third-party vouchers (including but not limited to Groupon or Wowcher) are non-refundable and non-transferable and may be subject to additional third-party terms.
4.3.3 All cancellations or amendments for third-party bookings must be made directly with the third-party provider.
5. Cancellations or Amendments by the Castle
5.1 In the unlikely event that the Castle must cancel or amend your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to do so.
5.2 In such circumstances, you may: a) Accept the amended arrangements; b) Transfer your booking to an alternative date (subject to availability); or c) Cancel your booking and receive a full refund of monies paid.
5.3 The Castle reserves the right to cancel bookings made on promotional rates and offer alternative dates, subject to availability.
5.4 We reserve the right to cancel any booking that is not supported by a valid credit or debit card.
6. Public Events and Christmas Packages
6.1 All public events, Christmas accommodation packages, lunches, and party bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking.
6.2 All payments for such bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.3 Availability for public events and packages is not guaranteed until full payment has been received.
7. Special Requests
7.1 The Castle will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requests; however, these are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
7.2 Failure to meet any special request does not constitute a breach of contract.
8. Cots and Extra Beds
8.1 Cots and extra beds are available subject to availability.
8.2 Charges are as follows: a) Cot: £10.00 per night b) Extra bed: £30.00 per night
9. Pet Policy
9.1 With the exception of registered assistance dogs, no pets are permitted within the Castle or its grounds.
10. Wedding and Event Conduct
10.1 As a four-star wedding and event venue, the Castle expects all guests to conduct themselves appropriately at all times.
10.2 We reserve the right to refuse service or require the departure of any guest whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate, without refund.
10.3 The Client is responsible for the conduct of all guests attending their wedding or event.
10.4 Any damage to the Castle, its grounds, or property caused by the Client or their guests will be charged to the Client.
11. Liability
11.1 The Castle shall not be liable for loss or damage to personal belongings unless caused by our negligence.
11.2 Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
12. Force Majeure
12.1 The Castle shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flood, severe weather, government restrictions, or national emergencies.
13. Complaints
13.1 Any complaints should be raised with the Castle during your stay where possible. 13.2 Written complaints may be submitted by email or post following your visit.
14. Website Use
14.1 Use of this website is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
14.2 Content on this website is provided for general information only and may be amended without notice.
14.3 Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.
14.4 You may not create a link to this website without prior written consent from the Castle.
15. Governing Law
15.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. 15.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
